Erasable Ink

i thought maybe i could try to change the past
and start anew
start fresh
make everything right again
cause my heart is breaking
it can't take no more
it can't function
i can't function
life ain't what it used to be
i shouldn't always be confused
unsure of where to go
what corner to turn
which direction to walk in
maybe i should change it all
give me the eraser so that i could clean the blackboard
forget about it all
but
if i erase it all i'm bound to make the same mistakes again
bound to get heartbroken again
i thought that using erasable ink would've made it easier to cope
but i got it all wrong
i can't use it to solve everything
can't use it to get rid of the pain
but i can use it to soothe it
use the erasable ink on something worthwhile
and use it to alter my present
so that my future will be something to look forward to
