ok, so rihanna has finally opened up about that night in the car with chris brown when he physically attacked and beat her this past feb 8, 2009. while she was telling the part about what lead up to the fight i, honestly, couldn't help thinking that she hit him first. she said that he kept lying and she wouldn't back down, but i really felt like she was mushing him in his head, "like why are you lying to me, just tell the truth" comparing myself to her as a woman of caribbean descent i would've mushed him in the head myself. but a great point that she said was that even if i did hit him it didnt give him the right to beat me the way that he did. which is very understandable.
honestly right now, i am a little iffy on why she waited this long to speak out, like your album is coming just now but hmmmmm who knows..
at the end of the day i feel bad for both of them because they had to go through in the limelight. there was no time for either of them to breathe and try to get their minds right without having the WHOLE world what they are going through..

After being incarcerated for 9 years rapper Jamal Shyne was finally released from prison a few ago. But here's the catch he is being deported back to native country of Belize. I'm not sure if that how the system works but it just seemed a little fishy to me. Well he's back in belize now and has changed his name to Moses Micheal Levi. I hope he just uses this experience to teach the youth that all that glitters ain't gold and just use this as a lesson learned. Every negative can somehow be turned into a positive.

A Raisin in the Sun

So, I was on twitter the other day and one of the people that I am following is the singer/actor/comic book writer, Tyrese, and he had twitpic'd a particular interesting picture. I thought it was very ironic because lately I've been thinking about how I haven't REALLY been using my talents to their fullest ability's. And then I remembered the poem "A Raisin in the Sun" by Langston Hughes and play by Lorraine Hansberry.
No matter what your circumstance may be never NEVER give up. Never let your talents go to waste. And I know that I'm siting "preaching" when I should take my own advice, but that's something that I am/I've been working on. There are plenty of people out there would kill to be able to sing, or dance or simply just being able to speak to/with others with authority. To be able to cheer some one up in my eyes is a talent. Saying the right thing at the same time. I know that I'm probably rambling on and on but I hate to see something beautiful and precious go to waste.
Many people may think that they have no talent or any thing to offer to world, but everyone and I mean EVERYONE in this world has a purpose!! Even if you think you don't!
So don't let your talents, your dreams and/or your aspirations fester like a sore..

LIGHTENING STRIKES AGAIN!!!!
This Saturday [o8.15.o9], Jamaican Olympic runner Usain Bolt broke yet another record!!! 9.58 seconds, even faster than what he ran for the Mens 100m at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China last August of 9.69 seconds.
Although I wasn't born there I am beyond proud to be of Jamaican descent!! We are definitely putting ourselves back on the map in a positive way instead of it being about the crime rate or anti-gay remarks. But of course there is always someone who has to ruin the parade and say that Bolt is showing off, he's too cocky, or he's show-boating. But I don't blame him, he's doing his best to represent a country that is smaller than Connecticut and in terrible debt in an unimaginable way.
Although I'm not denying the fact that I was born in the US, I'm just saying that we [Americans] are quick to point the finger at someone when plenty US Athletes are using steroids... just saying though

been a while..

it's been a while since i last wrote. well i FINALLY started my job as a site monitor with summer youth. i was really excited at first until i started. the first three weeks were CRAZY hectic. but now it's starting to get a lot better. better to the point that by 1pm monday i am already finished with a whole week's worth of work even though i get to work around 10:40! so basically i just go home or by a friend's house until i have to go back to work around 4 to hand in the time sheets and weekly assessments and then sign out about 1/2 hr later.
but other than that there is really nothing special going on.
ohhh yeah, i finally learned the jerkin' dance, well the running backwards thingy [reject] and that crouching thing. LoL!
but any who i WILL update again once something crazy happens or i hear some new music.

So I think by now that everyone has heard the tragic news of Micheal Jackson's death. This is such a tragic loss to the music world You've made such a great impact on the world. I'm pretty sure that most artist can attribute their love of music to him and many other talented artists.

so there is this new r&b girl group out called RichGirl. even though lately i've been sitting at home doing nothing but watching tv and tweeting [twitter.com/natasha205] i don't normally watch music videos...but i happened to stumble across their video a few days ago on MTV's music hitlist. the name of their newest song/video is "HE AIN'T WITH ME NOW (THO)". i thought the video, song, and girls were cute but i didn't think that they were the best singers...until i saw this video of them singing in a capella...just beautiful

Who Needs a Black Princess Anyway???

So if you're a fan of Disney movies you must've heard about the 1st new Black Disney Princess since the first Princess created 75 years ago and of course anything involving some thing that is Black or even partially Black will just somehow manage to be controversial!!!

From the story line of "The Princess and the Frog" to her name change from "Maddy" to "Tiana" and most importantly her racially-ambiguous non-Black prince.

We already have our Black President what's wrong with a Black Disney Princess?!?!?! Disney is obviously not happy about making this movie, it was announced in 2007 and it is now June 2009 and set to be released on December 11, 2009. If it went straight to DVD I wouldn't be that much surprised!!!

But all I know is that if I am home from school I will definitely be taking Amirah to go see this!!!

fantasy ride

so i'm hearing from a lot of sources that Ciara's new album "FANTASY RIDE" is trash and has flopped way before it was even been released. they say she's becoming too "pop" or "mainstream" but listen it's a recession...she needs to appeal to everyone and get her album selling. i honestly don't think she has shying away from her R&B roots...but she is doing something different...i'll be very honest after her first album "GOODIES" i didn't buy the album after...but i don't think "FANTASY RIDE" suucks either...it's just a little different that what you would normally hear from ciara
but any who...back to the reason i'm even writing about ciara. on this new album she has a popppppppppin' song called "LIKE A SURGEON" it's real sexy-like just like "PROMISE" but maybe even better...LoL...the beat kinda sounds like "PONY" by ginuwine...but yeah...listen to it and enjoy!!!

i know everyone has realized by now that i absolutely love music...every other post is about a song or something...like as long as i have my music i'm good...when the choir had put us on a secular fast for a week i thought i was gonna go crazy...i'm the type of girl who would rather listen to music than socialize with other people...kinda sad i know...but anyway i just have this great love for music...like i don't even have to hear the words...i would sometimes even rather listening to the beat and under beats than the lyrics themselves...but any who back to why i was writing this

So I have not written in almost two months...but it wasn't done intentionally...it's just that all of my past blogs were written before the new semester started...and I had time to do whatever I wanted...well a lot has happened since then...::sigh::...I've been very busy...I'm either in class, a meeting, practice or at work...but I'm making it all happen.

So great news...I love my major [[ linguistics ]] ...its really exciting and different...

Even better news...I finally let him go...I finally told him that I couldn't take it anymore and I was done hanging around when he didn't care about me or loved me [[ the way I wanted him to ]]...when I told him that I only wanted to be friends and nothing more...I was told that I was "full of shit" and then hung up on...it took soooooooo much out of me to not call back and tell him about hisself...but I chose to not to because that would show that I cared...a few weeks later around Valentine's Day he he's harrassing me asking if he can be my Valentine...I don't get you...you say I'm full of shit but you want to be my Valentine...then a week later he's calling and texting me talking about why am I acting up...I know I messed up but you're taking it too far now...I would never push you away like that...

But the thing is that...you have...soooo many times before...and every single time I've taken you back...and brushed everything you ever done to me to the side...because I loved you...and I was willing to put my feelings on the back burner...but I was done feeling this way for someone who couldn't show how much they cared because they were "too far away"...but that is garbage and I can no longer stand around and feel this way...

Right now...I'm not looking for anyone...I'm just focusing on my books and work and the orgs that I am involved in...granted there is someone that I am pursuing but this time I will take it slow because there are some barriers that are affecting our potential relationship...but honestly I'm not sweating anything...whatever happens happens...I just won't hold my hopes too high...

Whewww that was a lot...but its been a while since I've last posted...sooo yeah...anywho...GOB BLESS and BE SAFE ALWAYS!!!
